Creating resilient infrastructures with HRFN

Cathy Richards

Being a support organisation, our work is focused on strengthening civil society organisations through their use of data and technology. We support organisations in the process of considering the privacy, security and ethical implications of organisational practices around technology both in everyday and strategic decisions. We are thrilled to be partnering with the Human Rights Funders Network (HRFN) on their journey to strengthen their organisational security.

HRFN is a network of funders from the Global South, East, and North dedicated to resourcing human rights action around the world. Their unique context has led to the desire to focus on strengthening internal practices around digital security. We are excited to support them in exploring new topics, best practices and “unknown unknowns” in the way they collaborate, select platforms, and implement safety protocols.

We are working with HRFN to assess their current organisational and digital security processes and build a way forward to more secure, resilient and justice-focused practices. For the next 10 months, we will be assessing HRFN’s infrastructure and conducting interviews with staff to better understand their organisational security needs. With this input we will detect opportunities, build a roadmap together and accompany HRFN in the implementation of the plan.

If your organisation is also navigating the organisational security journey we’d love to chat with you about it. We’d like to invite you to join our Organizational Security Community, use the organizational security toolkit we put together and to get in touch with us if you need support.
