This August, The Engine Room engaged in our first “Deep Dive” learning and exploration week. We’ve just launched a zine that showcases some of what came out of that experience.
On November 14, 15:00 UTC, we invite you to join us to talk about the thinking behind the week, including how it was designed and structured, what the experience was like and what we learned.
We’d also love to have a discussion about what remote non-profits can do to support new ways of exploring, supporting curiosity and building connections.
We hope to see you there!

We all have things that we are interested in exploring further, but just don’t have the time for: articles we’ve wanted to read or re-read, podcasts we’ve been interested in listening to, artworks to see, suggestions from friends and colleagues to follow up on, and all those endless open tabs.
The Deep Dive Week was an opportunity for us to take much needed time off from the day-to-day and dive deeply into different areas of learning – choosing topics that were both personal to each of us, but also relevant in some way to our work at The Engine Room.
Acknowledging that everyone works and creates differently, we assembled a team of talented and varied artists, musicians, designers, videographers, researchers, copy editors, and translators.
Each team member partnered with a creative support collaborator to create something that reflected what they explored.
You can explore all this in the Deep Dive Week zine – just launched!
